 "Miles Gracey (b.1987) uses sculptural furniture to explore and expand upon narratives within domestic space, be they rooted in fact or fiction. Stories come together in a rich tapestry of emotion, imagination, lived histories, and fantasy.

Growing up in California near the water, Gracey sites the ocean as the setting for some of his earliest memories. With a traditional mastery of wooden furniture and cabinet making, coupled with a penchant for fantasy, science fiction, and mythology,"    "Gracey creates forms both extraordinarily crafted and incredibly whimsical.

Looking to periods of high decoration and craft, Gracey takes unconventional approaches to ornamentation and symbolism reminiscent of Romantic, Nouveau, and Arts & Crafts— with the aim to reunite the mystic and the quotidian. Wood, a living thing, tells its own tales and acts as a charged material for Gracey’s investigation into a world unseen and super-stylized."
