LEFEVRE

PRINT MEDIA

Caleb LeFevre is an emerging artist and craftsperson currently living in Detroit, Michigan. His work utilizes craft to engage the viewer, provoking questions about function, material, and concept. LeFevre works across disciplines to examine conventions of masculinity and domesticity through a queer lens. In 2022 he received a Windgate Art Launch award, and his work has been purchased by the Historical Arkansas Museum.

LeFevre was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, but he spent time as a resident of Memphis, TN and Asheville, NC. He received his associate degree from Asheville-Buncombe Community College in 2016 before returning to Arkansas. In 2022, he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a BFA in applied design/woodworking and a minor in art history.

At Cranbrook, LeFevre engaged with print media as an expanded field of multiple production and manipulation. Since moving to Detroit, he has been inspired by homeownership as a subject that encompasses private and personal interactions. His work affirms the agency of placemaking but frames intimacy and privacy as negotiable qualities.
